Practicalities for Attending JerSem

Registration

Registration for JerSem is available through the World Languages Institute catalog at Rutgers.

To register for JerSem:

  1. Create an account on the WLI site with your contact information.
  2. Add the appropriate registration item to your WLI cart and check out.
  3. Let us know of any dietary restrictions by an email to semdial2016-group at scarletmail.rutgers.edu.

Registration rates for JerSem are $120 for students and $180 for others. In addition, individuals who have registered for NASSLLI and want to attend just the Saturday QUD sessions of JerSem can register for that day's events for $40.

Online registration has been extended from the original June 13 deadline.

Accommodation

Budget accommodations are available in the Rutgers Honors College for JerSem participants. (This is the same venue as NASSLLI housing, so participants in both events can stay in the same place throughout NASSLLI and JerSem.) The link to register for budget accommodations is here.

The deadline to register for budget accommodations through Rutgers is June 13, 2016.

There are two hotels in convenient walking distance from the conference venues:

Note that these hotels may not be able to accommodate early arrival because of other meetings happening in New Brunswick through Friday.

Participants who wish to drive to the venue will need to purchase passes to park on the Rutgers campus at $8/day. The link for parking passes is here.

Travel

The conference venue and accommodations are located in easy walking distance of the New Brunswick train station on the New Jersey Transit Northeast Corridor Line. This is about 30 minutes by train from Newark Airport (EWR) and 60 minutes by train from New York City.

As in previous editions of SemDial, the event will run two and a half days. The workshop sessions will run from Saturday morning through early Monday afternoon. Participants booking flights from Newark from 4pm Monday or later won't need to miss any of the workshop.
